As part of their 'Wild Weather' topic, P4/5 pupils have been learning about the causes of earthquakes and have been finding out how buildings are made earthquake proof in high risk areas. This culminated in a very exciting challenge in which the pupils had to design and build a structure from cocktail sticks and marshmallows which would withstand an 'earthquake'! Miss Henderson was very impressed with how pupils applied knowledge from the prior lessons and also with how they were able to redesign and improve structures to make them more successful.
