Today we were delighted to welcome Anna to our school. Anna owns her own business, 'At the Heart of the Game', which delivers CPR and defibrillator training to sporting groups, businesses and schools across the province.
To begin with, Anna delivered an inspiring assembly to all our pupils that explained how she formed her business and why she is so passionate about what she does.
Afterwards, all of our Key Stage 2 pupils took part in 45-minute sessions and gained life-saving knowledge and skills. Anna explained the Primary Survey (DRS ABC) and how to react to the different situations. Pupils had the opportunity to practice putting someone in the recovery position, carry out CPR and even had the chance to use a defibrillator.
Tomorrow we look forward to Fitness Fun with Sports City and a visit from the Police. Primary 1 - 4 will also enjoy a cookery demonstration by Valerie.
