P6/7 Robot Day

24th Oct 2019

Primary 6 and 7 had a fun filled day with Sentinus led by the University of Ulster.

The overall aim for day 1 was to challenge the children's ability to program a robot to travel around a race track without coming off the road. Now this was not a simple straight lined race track! It had twists, turns, roundabouts and bridges...this was a challenge all the children enjoyed trying to crack.

Their ICT skills were put to the test as they had to create the computer program themselves to make the robot move using trail and error, number work and the angles in which the car robot took each turn focusing on direction and gradient of movement.

P6/7 throughly enjoyed this day with all the challenges they faced and cannot wait to complete day 2 after half term.
