P7 lighting up history
8th Oct 2025
As part of our World War II topic, pupils explored historical methods of communication by creating their own Morse code systems.
Using circuits, lightbulbs, and switches, they applied their understanding of electricity from the science curriculum — including constructing simple series circuits and recognizing components — while also developing coding and decoding skills linked to computing.
This cross-curricular activity encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and a deeper understanding of wartime innovation and resilience.
