Primary 7 – Designing Medals of Honor
Our Primary 7 pupils have been diving into the history of World War II, exploring the bravery and sacrifices of those who lived through it. As part of their learning, they researched the significance of wartime medals and what they represent.
Inspired by their findings, the children designed their own unique medals to honour courage and resilience. First, they sketched their ideas, then brought them to life by crafting practice versions in playdough. Finally, they created their finished pieces in clay, carefully painting them with their chosen colours and designs.
Each medal tells a story—reflecting the values and qualities the pupils believe deserve recognition. This hands-on project has helped them connect with history in a creative and meaningful way.
Ask your child about the medal they designed and what it represents. You’ll be amazed at the thought and creativity behind their work!
