Scotland Residential - Day 1

28th May 2025

What a fantastic first day in Scotland. After our early departures from our respective schools, we enjoyed a smooth crossing across the Irish Sea, fuelled by tasty hot breakfasts of pancake stacks, cooked fry’s, granola/yogurt or scrambled eggs and toast. Next some enjoyed the cinema afterwards and out deck was beautiful in glorious sunshine ☀️

Next we made our way to the Glasgow Science museum and planetarium before enjoying our packed lunches and making the short journey to Ibrox stadium, home of the Glasgow Rangers. Here our guide Heather (a retired school Principal) provided an in depth overview of the clubs history. Mr. Hutchinson and Mr. Campbell even held a press conference to announce they had applied for the vacant manager/assistant managers positions. After a visit to the new ‘cashless’ shop we managed to get all customers kitted out before reaching Carronvale House for dinner and room allocations.  We finished off our evening with lots of Sports in the sports hall, but particularly enjoying the mixed schools football on the astroturf pitch until dark!  Some terrific football was played in lots of new kits too.

All are now safely tucked up into bed and hopefully enjoying a well earned good nights sleep 😴.  Tomorrow we will look forward to Blair Drummond Safari Park for an action packed day and little travelling, topped off with 2 games of bowling after dinner in the evening 🎳

Good night everyone,

Mr. Hutchinson
