Scotland Residential -Day 3

1st Jun 2025
A few tired children this morning as we packed our bags, enjoyed breakfast, took parting photos and set off for the breathtaking Edinburgh Castle, set on an extinct volcano.

On arrival, the Royal Mile and castle area was extremely busy as we admired the structure being built to stage the Edinburgh Tattoo festival. We felt like celebrities as everybody wanted to stop and talk to us! We made our way through the castle, viewing the Crown Jewels 👑, the Great Hall, St. Margaret's Chapel (oldest building in Edinburgh), the dungeons, Mon's Meg canon and breathtaking scenery before enjiying our lunch and waiting to hear the 1pm canon going off!

Next we set off for Braehead Shopping Centre for last minute gifts and more snacks, before heading for the ferry ⛴️ 😋.  Enjoying another hot meal on board, we were praised by ferry staff and the general public on our good manners and impeccable behaviour throughout our ferry journeys 👏 👏

A big thank you to all our wonderful staff from both schools for coming along and supporting our pupils and also to our bus driver, Audrius who had us at every destination punctually, arriving in Hamiltonsbawn at exactly 10.45pm as agreed 👍

A fantastic trip, great company and memories created forever ❤️
