The Primary 6 children have been enjoying lots of fun activities as part of their new topic, the Titanic! 🚢🌊
We began by recalling all the facts we know about the Titanic and then each child composed two questions they would like answered by the end of our topic.
Next, everyone enjoyed a timeline task which helped us understand Titanic’s place in history. Each group worked together to organise major historical events in chronological order using prior knowledge and clever reasoning! Afterwards, as a class, we arranged these correctly and discussed the time lapse between the different historical events. This helped us understand why the Titanic tragedy is considered part of our modern history.
Most recently, we used the internet and topic books to find out what life was like in Belfast in 1910. We then compared our findings to our lives in Hamiltonsbawn in 2025 and we were shocked by some of the significant changes over the past 100 years!
